FAQ --- Securities (Hong Kong)

Q: Where my fund is being kept? How do you ensure my fund is secured?
A: Fund deposited from our client is safely kept in our ¡§Trust Account¡¨ maintained with Standard Chartered Bank. It is strictly prohibited for any other use of the fund in Trust Account except for settlement or other transfer instruction executed by PSHK on behalf of the client. To avoid improper use of the trust account, every transaction done in the ¡§Trust Account¡¨ will be recorded properly.
Q: Where my securities are being kept?
A: If the Hong Kong securities are eligible securities under the Central Clearing and Settlement System(CCASS), they will be safely kept in CCASS Account under the name of Polaris Securities (Hong Kong) Limited (¡§PSHK¡¨).
Q: How do you deal with dividend issuance and other shareholders¡¦ entitlement?
A: When there is dividend entitled for our clients with their stocks being held in PSHK, PSHK will directly credit the dividend amount to our clients¡¦ Securities Account (not including service charge). The dividends amount and the relevant charges will be shown on clients¡¦ daily and monthly statements. If the stocks have not been deposited into PSHK by ex-date in respect of the entitlement, no dividends will be paid to client via PSHK Securities Account. PSHK will notice our clients by mail as long as they are entitled for dividends or any other shareholder entitlements with choice selection. Clients can select a proper choice within the restricted period.
Q: How can I transfer my Hong Kong securities holding from other broker to the account I maintain with PSHK?
A: It takes one to two days to transfer securities from another broker to PSHK. And at the same time, instruct us to receive those securities via CCASS by filling in the Settlement Instruction (S.I.).
